Re: King James Only
Josh...un-lik early Christian times...there WAS written history being recorded in the 1600's....and it WAS verified that King James WAS a cross dressing homosexual king of England.......

Re: King James Only
I will be starting the small/in home groups this Sunday night. I would like to open the first session with this whole 'KJV only thing' and get it out of the way.
I have some info I plan to use, but would you be able to steer me in the right direction as to some study helps?
Well, depending on your group, things might get ugly, if you've got some serious people on each side of this debate.
I'd suggest using a good parallel Bible, or have different versions on hand to compare, because I don't find any doctrinal differences myself.
Other than that, you could do an internet search for "KJV Only" and you'll find all sorts of info - both for and against.
Let us know how it goes.

You've mentioned that, Bob.
I will be starting the small/in home groups this Sunday night.
Hey, how's the small group/study going?

Re: King James Only
Not to me. All have sinned. Plus, I don't have any actual proof of your claim.
I don't see any doctrinal differences in the KJV, NIV, NLT, whatever.
Read the Bible, Bob, pick your favorite version.

Re: King James Only
Small groups is fine.
Instead of 'King James only' we studied 'Basic Christian Beliefs/Living'
We've finished that and started a study on James. I don't think the King James thing would've been much of a problem, a study on the Holy Spirit and speaking in 'tongues' would be a tough one though!

Re: King James Only
OOH, the Book of James! That'll be a good study. There's some convicting stuff on Christian living in there.

Re: King James Only
Know what? Can you point me in the right direction for some 'fun' studies I can use for couples? It's another thing that some have requested for me to start. I think we'll get together once or twice a month, have dinner, pray, then have some...'Christian couples...counseling/studying/learning about each other/whatever-what-cha-ma-call-it thing' for about 30 minutes to an hour. Still kind of up in the air. I need some material.
