For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23) In reply Jesus declared, I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. (John 3:3) Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame. (Romans 10:9-11)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23

New Forum

I was perfectly content in my ignorance to leave things alone concerning Catholic doctrine. Not knowing much about Catholic beliefs, I didn't want to rock the boat with debate, and I still don't (Things tend to get ugly with this issue). However, when a discussion came up and I was forced to seriously consider some of the beliefs, traditions and teachings, I was no longer able to ignore these things, happily accepting some "differences" within the Body of believers.

Through some serious study of both sides of the issue, I have come to the conclusion that a lot of accepted Catholic beliefs are contradictory to Scripture, empty ritual and even false doctrine.

I do still believe that there are some saved Catholics, but (and I realize this is offensive, but this is exactly how I see it) - they are saved despite the Catholic Church, and not because of it.

By no means do I wish to attack or belittle our Catholic posters, but I do feel that I need to make my own beliefs clear. Just because I may allow a post to stand here, does not necessarily mean I agree with it. It may just mean that I don't feel like spending the time to debate it.

With all that said, I am lifting the ban on new posts concerning Catholic doctrine and adding this new forum instead, for those who may want to debate or discuss the subject. Keep them in here. If things get out of hand, we will ban without warning, so keep it civil in our disagreements. Name calling and personal attacks will not be tolerated.
